iO Associates have partnered with a cutting-edge company in the cleantech industry, specializing in the development of sustainable materials. They are currently seeking a dedicated Process Technician (Chemical/mechanical) to join their innovative research and development team.
Role Summary:
As a Process Technician you will play a crucial role in supporting the scale-up and industrialization of their advanced chemical recycling technology. You will be involved in various aspects of process development, plant design, and working closely with the R&D team to drive innovation in circular economic materials processes.
Responsibilities:
- Support the scale-up of technology from laboratory to pilot plant
- Assist in developing prototypes and testing new processes
- Operate and monitor chemical processing units
- Conduct regular inspections and record process data
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Support mechanical process modifications
- Prepare samples for testing
- Create documentation including SOPs and training manuals
- Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols
Essential Skills & Experience:
- A-levels or BTEC in the sciences with minimum 5 years of experience OR HNC/HND in Chemical/Process Engineering with minimum 3 years of industrial experience
- Industry experience in process optimization
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written English
- Passion for sustainability and circularity in technology
- Located in or willing to relocate to the Bristol area
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience in advanced materials or composites
- Health and safety training (IOSH/NEBOSH)
- Knowledge in polymer chemistry and chemical recycling technologies
- Background in pressurized systems
- Degree qualified in Engineering
- Project management skills
