Procurement Officer

Location: Bristol (3 days a week in the office)

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 + flexible/remote working, pension contributions, annual training budget just for you & more!

My client, an established Defence Company, is currently looking for a Procurement Officer to join them on a permanent basis.

They are a global technology company engaged in a wide range of programmes throughout the world. Developing and supplying a broad portfolio of airborne, land and naval systems and products for defence, homeland security and commercial aviation applications

As part of a small but expanding team, you'll administer and oversee the processing of purchase orders, from initiating demand through to receipt of goods and services, including engagement with suppliers, obtaining quotations, agreeing terms and conditions, securing order acceptance, progressing chasing and tracking of performance.

This role has become available as the company are bringing all the engineering in-house and so are going through huge expansion. The role will also see you flying out to meet suppliers 2/3 times a year, to places such as Sweden and Switzerland. As the company grow, they envisage this role moving into a leadership position, overseeing the direct procurement department

We are looking for:

  • Experience in a buyer, purchasing or procurement role
  • Experience managing internal relationships/stakeholders
  • Ability to educate stakeholders on best practices and encourage improvements
