iO Associates have partnered with a World leading FMCG business based in Bristol who are looking for a Multi skilled Production Shift Engineer to work on the high speed production lines. The role is shift based working 12 hour shifts, 7 till 7, days and nights on a seasonal shift pattern.

This role involves working on the line and ocassionally filling in for the operatives when they are on lunch etc. You will work in a team of 5 across 3 machines and you will take full ownership and accountability for product quality and line performance, taking a lead role in achieving continuous performance improvements.

You will actively participate in the lean culture and operational philosophy, whilst encompassing all aspects of maintenance activities and machine improvements, including identifying and rectifying root causes of the running faults within the machinery, as well as annual overhauls.

You will be fault finding on complex mechanical, electrical and automated equipment. Ideally you will be electrically biased and have a good understanding of how the machines work and how to operate them. You will use your logical approach to problem solving and be able to implement Root cause analysis to identify the appropriate actions to take.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or Time served apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience of working in a Maintenance role
  • Experience of high speed production lines
  • Demonstrate health and safety understanding and compliance
  • Understanding of Lean Processes


In return you will receive a salary of £44,407 increasing after 6 month probation period to: £45,715. You will also get a benefits package that includes an company pension, individual healthcare cover, onsite gym, subsidised canteen and free onsite parking. The holiday is built into the shift pattern and you will work a total of 143 shifts in the year.
