iO Associates have partnered with a long standing Food Production business based in Shepton Mallet. They are looking for a Production Team Leader to join the team on a double days shift (5:45-1:45 & 1:45-10:15).

The exciting thing about this role, is the career progression that has been outlined by the Operations Manager. With the Area Managers coming close to retirement, the successful candidate will be looking to step up into an Area Manager position in the future.

Your previous leadership experience in an FMCG environment will be used to directly lead the shift teams, ensuring H&S and quality is being maintained and improved upon throughout the shift.

In this role you will be liaising with operators, having to communicate clearly any priorities, ensuring production targets are met. You will also be leading Continuous improvement initiatives and finding the root cause of problems and recommending any solutions.

It will be your responsibility to schedule and allocate staff into roles, ensuring all roles are covered and also you will be responsible for their development through one to ones and regular performance reviews. As well as this you will be making sure SOPs are followed and the QMS is kept up to date with audit compliance and operational improvement data.

To be considered for the role you will need:

  • Level 3 NVQ or similar in Leadership and Management
  • Experience of and formal training in staff supervision/leadership.
  • Practical experience of working to BRC standards and supermarket codes of practice.
  • Proven ability to lead Lean and Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Formal food safety/HACCP training.
  • Knowledge and experience gained in leading within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Food Hygiene - Level 3.
  • Manual Handling
