Job title: Principal Product Safety Engineer
Location: Frimley, Weymouth, Bristol, Portsmouth, Barrow-in-Furness, Plymouth or Brough, dependant on role and your personal circumstances.

(Hybrid, once a week in Bristol-travel allowance provided)

To assist us in designing, developing, integrating, managing, and providing support for complex systems and combat sub-systems for both current and future submarines, we are looking for an experienced Principal Product Safety Engineer to work with a team of engineers and technical specialists.

Required:

  • Safety engineering procedures, methods, and equipment
  • A thorough comprehension of safety engineering and assurance concepts
  • Candidates with relevant experience and qualifications from other fields who exhibit the appropriate attitudes and comprehend safety engineering will be given priority for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with third parties to review and gather evidence for safety cases and developing safety arguments, both functional and physical using appropriate safety analyses methods.
  • Producing and updating safety case and safety management documentation using appropriate regulations and standards.
  • Advising project and engineering managers delivering the programmes on product safety matters and ensuring the safety considerations are correctly considered and implemented.
