Senior EC&I Engineer (Contract)

We're working with a specialist engineering consultancy in Hampshire supporting a live combustion system upgrade for a thermal power station. This project has recently restarted after suspension during the pandemic and is entering its final design phase, with submission due later this year.

This role will suit an experienced Senior EC&I Engineer with a strong background in controls engineering and combustion control systems for thermal-fired power generation.

Role Overview

Review and finalise EC&I documentation to support the project's final design submission
Lead EC&I input on combustion control systems, including burner management and boiler protection
Lead collaboration between the combustion technology partner and lead consultancy to ensure system integration and compliance
Support emission reduction and performance improvement initiatives within the upgraded system
Provide technical input across controls, instrumentation, and protection systems for thermal-fired plant operations

Key Requirements

Proven experience as a Senior EC&I or Controls Engineer within thermal-fired power generation
Expertise in combustion control systems, burner management systems, and boiler protection systems
Strong understanding of control system integration and legacy system upgrades
Experience working with coal- or lignite-fired boiler systems
Knowledge of functional safety and related standards (Desirable)
