Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Flexible/Hybrid Working
Full Time - Manchester


My client is one the UK's leading Managed Service Providers, specialising in IT and Cloud solutions. They now on the lookout for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their Manchester based team on a Full-Time basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems, to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Windows and Linux server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
  • Configure and maintain network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, to ensure secure and efficient communication across the organisation.
  • Manage and support cloud services, such as AWS or Azure, including deployment, configuration, and optimisation of cloud resources.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect the company's IT infrastructure from cyber threats, including malware, ransomware, and unauthorised access.
  • Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and minimise downtime in the event of system failures or disasters.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference and knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux server administration.
  • Experience with network administration, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
  • Familiarity with cloud services, such as AWS or Azure.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
