A UK-based engineering design consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support major water sector projects. The company has established itself as a trusted partner within regulated industries, delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions while maintaining a strong focus on safety, wellbeing, and technical excellence.

You will be responsible for producing design calculations and drawings, leading junior designers, overseeing subcontract M&E teams, and liaising with suppliers and manufacturers. The role also involves preparing design reports and specifications, ensuring compliance with professional standards, and presenting at design reviews and client meetings.

Required Experience

10+ years of mechanical design experience in the water industry.
Strong background in hydraulic design.
Knowledge of electrical design and control systems.
Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
Professional registration, working towards chartership.

Preferred Experience

Chartered Engineer status.
Experience with wastewater and clean water projects.
Awareness of construction methods and materials.
