Senior UX Designer/Interaction Designer

Senior UX Designer/Interaction Designer - £500-£525 per day - Immediate Start - Remote - Outside IR35

A client of ours here at iO are looking for an experienced UX /Interaction designer to join an exciting project to improve a government online service.

Working with one other senior designer you'll be responsible for the wireframing/prototyping effort for an alpha phase over a period of 10-12 weeks. Although the existing UX designer will be available for peer review and guidance, you'll be someone who is comfortable interpreting research, establishing risks and hypotheses to test with users, and wireframing and building detailed interactive prototypes of these journeys with either the GOV.UK prototype kit or similar.

You'll be expected to work closely with usability testers and researchers to establish a high velocity rhythm of build/test/research/iterate over several short sprints.

In addition to an excellent track record, they are looking for someone with great communication skills and someone who can apply strategic thinking and business goals to designs, while focusing on user feedback.

Experience of being part of a team that has built an online GOV.UK service that has been through a GDS assessment is mandatory for this role.

You must be immediately available to start - for the first 12 weeks we would envisage a minimum of 3 days per week is required, however they can also discuss a 1 week on 1 week off pattern if that suits you better. After the alpha phase ends there is the potential for a further engagement for Beta.

Must be UK based as although most of the work will be able to be done remotely there will be a requirement for occasional travel for end of phase presentations, workshops etc. mostly in London.
