Solution Architect - Simulation Systems

Location: UK, willing to travel to Bristol or Portsmouth regularly / travel may be required to other sites

Salary: £85,000 - £95,000

Security Clearance requirements: SC current or clearable - UK National


A global defence & aerospace technology company operating in a wide range of programmes developing a range of airborne, land & naval systems have an opportunity for a Solution Architect to be a critical part of the programme that's modernising the training for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. Listed on the NASDAQ and TASE stock exchanges

The Solution Architect will support the design and integration of all software in the system, whilst providing Simulation Systems Engineering expertise for the whole programme as well as other simulation projects.

You will be:

  • The Lead solution architect for all synthetic integration tasks - including new and legacy systems
  • Designing & building large simulation solutions including new bespoke systems
  • Providing advice on synthetic training solution integration to equipment manufacturers
  • Overseeing all synthetic training solutions to ensure consistency
  • Providing internal & external briefings to customers & partners
  • Liaising with Chief Engineers, ensuring programme standards are aligned

You will have:

  • Experience designing architecture
  • System & Software Engineering understanding
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to be committed in making critical decisions
  • Experience of software integration's
  • Experience in delivering large programmes

Desirables:

  • Experience with Royal Navy or maritime systems
  • Understanding of Sonar, Radar, Optronics & other combat system elements
  • Experience with C, C++ and C# programming languages
  • Networked gaming integration
  • Experience working with simulation technologies (VBS / MAK)
