Position: Stress Engineer

Pay rate: £39.55 p/h inside IR35.

location: Stevenage, UK

Role Type: 06 Month Contract with extension (37 hours per week)

Position: Hybrid (60% Onsite, 40% Remote)

IO Associates seeks a Stress Engineer for the Stevenage site. Join a global aerospace leader specializing in commercial and military aircraft, helicopters, defense, and space sectors. Responsibilities

• Define and validate strength and stiffness requirements as per project specifications.
• Conduct structural analysis to achieve optimal mass design meeting the defined requirements.
• Develop a detailed plan for structural testing to verify compliance with strength and stiffness targets.
• Monitor tests, analyze results, and prepare comprehensive reports to demonstrate adherence to requirements.

Skills Required

• Requires 5 years of pertinent experience.
• Proficient in utilizing both external and internal software tools.
• Possess a strong grasp of analysis techniques for predicting strength and stiffness in lightweight structures, encompassing classical hand analysis and computer methods like finite element analysis (FEA) and pre/post processing software.
• Understand the actual costs associated with different methods and tools, with experience in MS Office and MSC Nastran.
