Supplier Development Engineer

iO Associates have partnered with a rapidly growing Medical device company based in the Cotswolds in the search for a Supplier Development Engineer.

This is a brand new role created due to growth of the business and increasing demand on the engineering team. The business has had some private equity funding in recent years enabling them to develop new products and subsequently grow the business and customer base further.

As the Supplier Development Engineer you will be responsible for supplier development/management which includes trials for new parts and tool transfer activities. The products are injection moulded, so knowledge in this area is essential. Reporting to the Validation Manager you will support supplier technical, quality and metrology teams to ensure the right standards are maintained across the supply chain.

You will be performing and processing SCARs as well supporting with supplier audits (FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO13485, ISO 9001). Additionally you will be coordinating any remedial work between the company and suppliers such as process changes, tool modifications and validations.

Writing technical and management reports as well as analysing and presenting data on management reviews will be another key aspect of your role.

To be successful in this role you will need;

• Experience in Mould Tool application, development and validation.
• Experience in Medical Devices or other highly regulated industries
• Degree or technically qualified in a related scientific discipline
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities
• Strong problem-solving skills
