Are you an experienced Environmental and sustainability professional? DO you want to join a global business and help them improve their environmental footprint? If yes, then this role could be for you.

iO Associates have partnered with a global FMCG business based in Bridgwater in the search for a Sustainability Manager to join the team. In this important role you will be reporting to the Site HSE Manager and will be responsible for effectively managing and driving the Environmental agenda to ensure that all personnel are operating in a legally compliant environment across the entire site.

You will actively maintain systems in line with both ISO14001 and Integrated Pollution Prevention Control (IPPC) requirements and within the parameters of the EA Permit.

It will also be up to you to implement and drive a sustainability programme identifying cost saving initiatives to reduce energy & water use, reduce effluent & waste and improve recycling. This will involve conducting audits across the site to drive a reduction in energy & water usage.

Another part of your role is to oversee the energy management agenda and you will be implementing the ISO 50001 framework, in order to be certification ready within two years.

On the whole the company has a good track record and has achieved Zero waste to landfill for several years, however there is still a lot that can improved upon, so while it will be a challenging role, it will be one where you know you will get the backing for the Senior leadership to implement your ideas and initiatives.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Environmental Management qualification
  • IEMA membership
  • Environmental Auditor
  • 10 years experience in environmental management role which should include sustainability.
  • Compliance and management of ISO 14001 programme * Experienced in PPC applications
  • Experience with interpretation of full environmental legal compliance
  • Strong computer skills especially MS Excel
