Business Analyst | 7 Month contract + extension | £400 per day | Inside IR35 | Remote

iO Associates is partnered with a government agency who are looking for a Business Analyst to come in on an exciting Data Warehousing project.

This project is huge for the client as it will improve the business practices for the whole company so they require a Business Analyst to come in and ensure that they get it right!

Role Responsibilities:

  • Quickly understand business issues and data challenges to get to the root cause of business problems
  • Translate user stories & business needs into technical specification documents for the Data Modelers
  • Elicit business requirements using a variety of techniques as appropriate (user stories, interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits etc.)
  • Engage with various stakeholders to understand their different reporting needs
  • Realise opportunities for improvement - can the manual system work be reduced?
  • Effective communicator and facilitator
  • Able to make data driven decisions
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to analyse information needs and functional requirements in order to deliver the required products (e.g. Feasibility Studies, Gap Analyses, BRDs, Business Cases and Initial Risk Assessments etc.)
  • Use BA Methodologies and prioritisation techniques like MoSCow and BABOK

Required experience:

  • Experience of BI tools and how users prefer to consume data
  • Experience of data warehousing approaches
  • Detailed elicitation of requirements, appropriate to the project or system being designed and quickly understand business issues and data challenges to get to the root cause of business problems
  • Translate user stories & business needs into technical specification documents for the Data Modelers
