My client, a leading Food Manufacturer are looking for a Technical Manager to join their team in Carmarthenshire. Over the last couple of years they have undergone significant growth and thankfully have been able to continue and actually accelerate that growth throughout COVID.

They have doubled their production capacity and have recently taken on some new high profile customers and are already supplying into the likes of Sainsbury's, Wilkinson's and Home Bargains.

You will be managing the technical department on the production floor and the labs at their two production sites situated within 45 minutes from each other. This role has 3 direct reports - the Quality Manager, Site Auditor and Technical Coordinator.

Reporting to the Head of Technical you will be responsible for developing and implementing the technical systems relating to product quality, safety and legality.

A big part of the role will be to develop and maintain the QMS to BRC standards and ensure the HACCP plan is in place.

You'll take a hands on approach getting involved with factory audits, driving continuous technical improvements and carrying out risk assessments throughout the business to develop the Food safety & Quality policies.

To be successful in this role you will need:
  • Experience working as a Technical Manager in the Food industry.
  • In depth knowledge of BRC, IFS, HACCP and Internal Auditing Systems
  • Lean and Continuous Improvement
  • Man management background
  • Ability to lead and develop a team
  • Highly Driven and proven problem solver
  • Experience working in a NPI/NPD environment
