Technical Program Lead

(Embedded Systems & Signal Processing) (f/m/d)

Location: Zurich, Switzerland

About the Role
We are seeking a technically strong leader to drive the delivery of embedded software and system integration for advanced sensor platforms. In this role, you will own the technical roadmap from development through verification and validation, enforce engineering standards, and ensure robust, secure deployments in demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development, deployment, and maintenance of software for sensor and signal processing systems, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and configuration management.

  • Define technical requirements and acceptance criteria in collaboration with cross‑functional teams (signal processing, electronics, networking, field operations).

  • Oversee verification & validation activities including factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) and test automation.

  • Plan and manage deployments to production sensor systems, often in secure or air‑gapped environments, including contingency planning.

  • Identify technical risks early (software, hardware, integration, security) and propose mitigation strategies.

  • Support technical estimation and scoping, writing proposals with strong technical justification.

  • Provide technical mentorship and oversight to engineering teams; ensure high-quality documentation and code reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, radar/signal processing, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related field.

  • 3-5+ years hands-on experience in software/systems engineering roles (embedded systems, sensors, real-time/near-real-time systems, avionics, or related domains).

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Rust, C/C++, Python) and familiarity with software toolchains (Git, CI/CD, automated testing).

  • Experience deploying systems in secure, air-gapped, or hardware-interfacing environments.

  • Knowledge of standards relevant to safety, reliability, or defence/avionics (e.g., ISO 9001 / EN 9100 / MIL-STD).

  • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • EU/Swiss nationality, or valid existing Swiss work Permit.
  • Fluent in English; Minimum German B2, additional languages (French) advantageous.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in signal processing, sensor calibration, hardware/software co-design.

  • Experience performing FAT/SAT or field deployment verification.

  • Familiarity with secure communications, networking, or cybersecurity constraints in sensor systems.

Offer

  • Competitive compensation and benefits.

  • Flexible/hybrid work arrangements.

  • Opportunities for professional growth, training, and certifications.

  • A technically challenging role delivering real-world sensor systems at the intersection of software, hardware, security, and field operations.
