Your Position and Team:
You'll be under the supervision of the Multiphysics Team Lead and collaborate closely with the Energy Storage System Lead.
Our Computing unit operates alongside proficient engineers utilising both basic and advanced calculation and optimisation techniques to ensure our aircraft and systems meet our performance objectives. We employ cutting-edge technologies to yield swift outcomes and foster inventive approaches to attain optimal solutions.
We seek an exceptional Thermal Calculation Engineer to join our forward-thinking team dedicated to shaping the future of urban e-mobility.
Your Daily Responsibilities:
- Assist in the thermal run-away design of battery modules using calculation techniques ranging from fundamental principles, such as Excel, to intricate 3D CFD simulations.
- Aid in the design process for the thermal regulation of battery modules employing calculation methods spanning from fundamental principles, e.g., utilising Excel, to intricate 3D CFD simulations.
- Collaborate closely with system engineering to establish and execute an effective simulation-centric design and optimisation procedure.
- Generate comprehensive reports for certification purposes.
- Actively contribute to refining processes within the department.
- Tackle occasionally associated assignments or projects assigned by management.
Your Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role, focusing on battery pack design and simulation, particularly concerning thermal run-away.
- Proficiency in contemporary CFD and heat transfer modelling techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with thermal networks and simplified modelling approaches is necessary.
- A robust foundation in fluid dynamics, heat transfer mechanisms, and thermal design principles is required.
- Hands-on experience with the CFD solver StarCCM+ and programming languages like Python or Matlab is mandatory.
- Experience with system modelling and mechanical design processes is highly advantageous.
- Prior exposure to thermal network solvers (e.g., Amesim, Simscape) is highly advantageous.
- Effective communicator and adept team player.
- A high degree of self-reliance and an independent, goal-oriented work ethic is imperative.
- Goal-oriented, proactive work ethic with strong analytical problem-solving abilities is essential.
- Proficiency in the English language is indispensable
