Salary: £70,000

Since they first launched 20 years ago, our client has become a household name in the consumer electronics device market.

They are looking for a Senior Firmware Manager to join an expanding R&D team. Along with building and managing a small team of Firmware Engineers, you will still be very "hands on" when it comes to software development for microcontrollers and SoC's.

You will be responsible for managing the entire software lifecycle, hardware/software integration and working with other businesses to bring in the latest technologies.

The team is very social, open and friendly with an emphasis on collective decision making over hierarchical.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for their first real foray into engineering management. Ideally you will have had some experience leading/supervising a small team

Skills:

• Ideally a qualified firmware engineer with at least 10 years' experience and previous experience in embedded systems (microcontrollers) for high-volume consumer electronics or similar
• Proven track record of developing complex software in Embedded C to a high standard (bare-metal and RTOS)
• Must be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of microcontrollers and best practices for embedded software development
• Strong skills with firmware IDEs/tools (Eclipse, Git, etc.). Previous experience with Cortex-M0 and Cortex-M4 would be highly beneficial
• Experience of IoT systems/platforms and communications e.g. NB-IoT. Previous experience with Zephyr OS would be highly beneficial
• Ability to lead a small team
