Technical Project Manager - Armoured Clothing
Location: Edelzeller, Germany
Duration: 12 month contract (possible extension)

Are you ready to lead innovative product development in protective solutions for defence and security? A confidential client within the defence industry is seeking a skilled Technical Project Manager to oversee end-to-end delivery of cutting-edge armoured clothing projects for military, law enforcement, and high-performance applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Oversight

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure technical specifications are met.
  • Oversee compliance with ballistic, stab, and environmental standards (e.g., NIJ, HOSDB, ISO).
  • Support testing, validation, and certification processes.

Project & Team Coordination

  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams across engineering, QA, design, and manufacturing.
  • Ensure streamlined communication across all technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Manage timelines, risks, budgets, and deliverables.

Client & Supplier Engagement

  • Interface directly with clients to gather requirements and provide updates.
  • Coordinate with key suppliers to secure timely delivery of materials and components.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain adherence to regulatory and export control standards.
  • Produce and manage project documentation, test reports, and technical logs.

Required:

  • Degree in Engineering, Textiles, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3-5+ years of technical project management experience (preferably in defence or technical textiles).
  • Knowledge of body armour, technical textiles, certification standards (NIJ, ISO, CE), and PLM systems.

Preferred:

  • Certification in PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with military/law enforcement procurement.
  • Familiarity with CAD, textile design tools, and ballistic materials (e.g., Kevlar, UHMWPE, ceramics).
