Job Title: UI/UX Lead

Location: Telford, United Kingdom (2 days onsite weekly - mandatory)

Contract: 8-week contract with possible extension

About the Role

We're looking for a UI/UX Lead to take ownership of design across web and mobile products. You'll drive the end-to-end design process, set standards, and ensure user-focused delivery within a fast-moving digital environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead full lifecycle UI/UX design
Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals
Conduct user research and usability testing
Maintain design guidelines and best practices
Collaborate with product and engineering teams
Ensure accessibility, responsiveness, and UX quality
Mentor UI/UX designers and support team decision-making

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years UI/UX experience, including 2+ in a lead role
Strong portfolio across web and mobile
HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript; experience with React or Angular
Understanding of RESTful APIs and MuleSoft integration
Experience with design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
Strong grasp of UX principles and accessibility standards
Comfortable working with Git, CI/CD, and Agile teams
Degree in Design, HCI, or related field

Technical Skills

Experience designing for government or citizen-facing platforms
Familiarity with API-led connectivity and MuleSoft architecture
Strong understanding of responsive design and UI engineering basics
